Democracy and Human Rights After centuries of dictatorship and civil war, Democratization processes have opened up new possibilities for political participation. But those that have been excluded from the political process for a long time often lack the necessary skills. For a real democratization it is necessary that people are able to use their rights and possibilities.
Media Diversity and Critical Publicity
In many Latin American countries there is still a strong. Local clans often have a monopoly on the media, thus impeding democratization. Independent media – citizen radios, small newspaper projects and media networks – act as a counterweight. Such offerings have to be expanded further.
