The UN millennium declaration demands to halve the proportion of people who are unable to reach or to afford safe drinking water until 2015. The 4th World Water Forum, taking place in Mexico City in March 2006 under the main theme “Local Actions for a Global Challenge”, aims officially at enabling multi-stakeholder participation and dialogue to influence water policy making at a global level.
